    Still in Venice...

    Still in Venice!

    Ristorante Da Ivo

Dressy casual, reservations necessary, closed on Sunday.

Phil and I had read about Da Ivo and heard about it from friends, so we knew we definitely wanted to try this restaurant. As soon as we arrived at our hotel in Venice we asked our concierge to make the reservation. A very small place. Maybe 12 tables. Very kind, patient and friendly waiters. I loved the framed menu presentation. Each dish explained in detail by the waiter and timed and served perfectly. The flavors were amazing. Too bad we didn't have a refrigerator in our room, I would have taken a few doggie bags back to the hotel!

    Appetizers:

    • Squash Blossoms stuffed with Shrimp...I can taste it now!FullSizeRender
    • Artichoke with Bacola, a white fish

    Main course:

    • Shrimp and Crab Risotto
    • Squid ink Pappardelle with ShrimpFullSizeRender
      Yep, I love shrimp!

We chose a perfect bottle of vino rosso, which we later shared with a darling (soon to be engaged) couple on spring break from their last year at Columbia University Law School. I wonder if he's finally popped the question!

Pasta, pane, e vino every day.... So grateful we walked everywhere!!
